Recap of 2022/Preview of 2023
2022 was a very active and productive year that saw a couple firsts from us as a label. We released two major projects; Golden Summer by Artisan P, and your kids deserve better by Buster Wolf. Both were celebrated with a cassette release show, where each artist performed their album in full. Music videos and shirts were made, shows were played, and vinyl and tapes were pressed. January
The year began with a music video from Artisan P for the track “Very Midnight” from the Different Forms EP. Shot and directed by Buster Wolf, the video features Artisan P walking around Tallahassee and spitting that hot shit. Although Different Forms is sold out on cassette, it’s still available digitally and on all streaming services.
March
Buster Wolf released loups III EP, the latest installment in his instrumental loups series. This EP is available on vinyl as a clear-lathe cut 7”. Buster Wolf appeared as a guest on the My Little Underground podcast hosted Peter A, where he discussed the EP as well as his passion for video games. You can stream the rest of the loups series on Spotify; be on the lookout for loups IV in 2023.
June - July
Artisan P
At the beginning of the summer, Artisan P released his first new single of the year, “Golden”, produced by Buster Wolf. The track served as the lead-single of his debut album Golden Summer. The following month, the next two singles were released; “Adult Swim” f/ Buster Wolf (prod. Late Show Host), and “Never Wanna Leave” (prod. OGxLOOP).
Buster Wolf
During the summer, Buster Wolf teamed up with Found Sound Social Club to release a live mix titled ‘6-23-22’. It’s available on all streaming services, and can be downloaded for free on Bandcamp.
Knifepunch Fest
Knifepunch Records invited Artisan P and Buster Wolf to perform at Knifest in July. The festival, which took place at the Wooly in Gainesville, featured performances from GILT, Least, Off Day, The Holy Ghost Tabernacle Choir, Really Fast Horses, X Dirty Fingers, and many more.
August - September
Buster Wolf - your kids deserve better
In August, Buster Wolf made a surprise release of the self-produced project, your kids deserve better EP on Bandcamp. It’s available on limited edition red cassette, and a self-directed music video was made for the track “decoupler”.
Artisan P - Golden Summer
October - November
As the fall season began, Artisan P start preparing for the release of his debut full-length album, Golden Summer. The album features production from OGxLOOP, DJ Proof, Late Show Host, denhead, and Buster Wolf, who also contributed a verse to a track. A video was made for the track “Never Wanna Leave”, which came out a day prior to the album’s release. Golden Summer is available on limited edition orange tint cassette, CD, and streaming everywhere. Shirts were also made; they are gray softstyle designed with an illustrated outline of the album cover. They can be purchased as part of a bundle pack that we’re offering exclusively on our website.
Artisan P returned as a guest to the My Little Underground Podcast. On this latest appearance, he chatted with host Peter A about the album, and the approach taken with it.
November
Cassette Release Show
In November we put on a tape release show to celebrate Golden Summer and your kids deserve better. Both are available on limited edition cassettes pressed by Audio Geography Studios. At the show, both Artisan P and Buster Wolf performed their albums in full. The night also saw DJ sets from both artists, as well as performance from Saw. 2023 Preview
There are some new projects that are currently in the works. You can expect new music from Late Show Host, who will be releasing his debut EP, beat tapes from both Buster Wolf and DJ Proof, plus some other projects that will soon be announced. We plan to host more shows, bringing more artists to Tallahassee, as well as putting out our more apparel and merch items.
